Nikon NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2

Name: NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2
Brand: Nikon
Availability: InStock

One of the most pocketable primes in any full-frame mirrorless system — the NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 packs a natural 40mm perspective and f/2 aperture into an almost pancake-sized body. It is exceptionally sharp centre-frame from wide open and produces clean, pleasant bokeh for a budget lens. An outstanding everyday carry option for any Z-mount body, from the Z30 to the Z8.

GearFrame's Take

Exceptionally sharp and compact — the NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 is the best-value everyday prime in the Z-mount system.

📝 How suitability scores are calculated GearScore™ genre scores are calculated from this camera's verified specifications — autofocus, sensor, weight, weather sealing and more — weighted by what matters for each type of photography. Where a spec sheet misses something (e.g. a manual-focus rangefinder for street), we apply a documented editorial adjustment. Scores are not based on customer reviews. See our full methodology →
