The Sony A6700 is the best APS-C camera Sony has ever made. It takes Sony's AI-powered autofocus system — previously exclusive to full-frame bodies — and places it inside the compact E-mount APS-C format, then adds 5-axis in-body stabilisation for the first time in the APS-C Sony lineup. The 26MP sensor records 4K/120p at 10-bit internally, matching the video capabilities of cameras costing significantly more. For wildlife photographers, the 1.5x crop factor and compact size make it excellent when paired with telephoto lenses — extending reach while keeping the system manageable. Battery life is improved over previous APS-C Sony bodies. The one compromise is the single card slot, which limits professional redundancy but is acceptable at this price point. If you shoot in the Sony ecosystem and want APS-C, the A6700 is the only one worth buying new.
