Sony RX1R II

The RX1R II (2015) put the 42 MP sensor of the A7R II behind the RX1's Zeiss 35mm f/2, added a pop-up OLED viewfinder, a tilting screen and 399-point hybrid AF, and a variable low-pass filter you can switch off. Still one of the smallest full-frame cameras.

📝 How suitability scores are calculated GearScore™ genre scores are calculated from this camera's verified specifications — autofocus, sensor, weight, weather sealing and more — weighted by what matters for each type of photography. Where a spec sheet misses something (e.g. a manual-focus rangefinder for street), we apply a documented editorial adjustment. Scores are not based on customer reviews. See our full methodology →
