Fujifilm GFX 100

The Fujifilm GFX 100 was the world's first mirrorless camera to combine a 100-megapixel sensor with phase-detect autofocus and in-body image stabilisation. Its integrated vertical grip design houses dual battery slots for all-day shooting, a 5.76M-dot EVF, and a fully articulating rear touchscreen. The 102MP BSI CMOS sensor (43.8 × 32.9mm) delivered medium-format resolution with a shooting experience previously impossible at this size class. At launch it represented the highest performance medium-format camera commercially available.

GearFrame's Take

The world's first 100MP mirrorless with IBIS and phase-detect AF — the GFX 100 was a landmark in medium format, but its size and weight are professional-grade.

Great For
👤
Portrait 102MP and medium-format rendering produce portrait files with extraordinary skin tone gradation.
🏔️
Landscape 102MP captures the finest landscape detail of any mirrorless system. IBIS helps handheld.
🏛️
Architecture Extraordinary resolution for architecture and interior work. Dual SD protects large RAW files.
⚠️ Not Ideal For
✈️
Travel 1,400g and its large dimensions make the GFX 100 impractical for casual travel.
🏅
Sports & Action 5fps and the bulk of the body rule out most action photography.
🎬
Vlogging & Video 4K/30p only and very large files make this a poor practical video choice.
