Leica Q3 Monochrom

The Q3 Monochrom puts a dedicated 60MP black-and-white sensor behind the same Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH lens and IP52-sealed body as the Q3. With no colour filter it reaches ISO 200,000 and still records 8K video, but it focuses by contrast detection only and battery life is a modest 302 shots. It is a specialist street and documentary camera for photographers who already know they only want black and white.

📝 How suitability scores are calculated GearScore™ genre scores are calculated from this camera's verified specifications — autofocus, sensor, weight, weather sealing and more — weighted by what matters for each type of photography. Where a spec sheet misses something (e.g. a manual-focus rangefinder for street), we apply a documented editorial adjustment. Scores are not based on customer reviews. See our full methodology →
